Pigeons or Seagulls?

If one were to go out to street level and immerse yourself in the waves of people washing over the sidewalks, and sometimes roads (well what India calls a road), one little red headed white kid would stick out. Not only would he stick out because he was the only little red headed white kid floating around in the muddy waves, but he is the only person in the country wearing shorts today. If you ignore the massive amount of cars, the smog, and the noise and simply look at people’s attire you would think you were in KC’s 37 degree weather. Today India was unusually cold, 19 degrees…….Celsius. Do the math and all of the street level people were swimming in 66 degree Fahrenheit weather wearing what I would consider a winter jacket and sweaters. Meanwhile I considered the weather to be perfect weather for shorts, t-shirt and flip flops.

On a side note, Stella interrupted my breakfast to tell me I was out of food and washing soap, the powdered kind. Since I have already forgotten how to care for myself, I gave her money so she could purchase groceries while I was hard at work trying to earn the salary they pay me. I told her that I wanted Indian food for the evening meal. 15 min later she came back and asked if I liked chilies, the green kind. I thought for sure I was in for a rough evening. Tonight she made the best meal I have consumed since being located in this country. Bye bye, no flavor, no sauce, pasta…welcome India food.

PS – For those that picked up on the subtle water references they are due to this city not having a refined drainage system, and it raining all day….
