FIRE, FIRE, FIRE

After a long day in the office Matt and I both needed a beer. Calling home to double check, he was granted a hall pass for the night and we began making plans. Since most restaurants do not open until 6:30 or 7, we decided we would stay late and just leave right from the office.

Packing up, we bid a goodnight to those still that remained in the office and we headed out. Ebony, the 13th floor, is a restaurant off of MG road that sits above the city leaving its patrons with an extraordinary view of Bangalore City. Being this far above sidewalk level it has to be one of the only places in this city you can still get fresh air outdoors. The shining lights, 80’s music playing in the background, a cold beer, how can one not relax in a place like this. Kicking back, Matt and I talked about life, work, home, the future and enjoyed our night out on the town.

After a few appetizers and 2–3 beers later, the 600 ml kind not those little 12 oz. ones, it was time to visit the facilities. Everyone knows that man law states that no two men from the same table may head to the restroom at the same time, Matt beat me it. Holding down the table I finished the beer and gazed over the city.

“Dude, when you head to the bathroom look on your left, only in India can you see things like that”.

Headed out the door I couldn’t wait to see what he was referencing. Being here for almost 4 months I am starting to get used to the items which are too far out for most westerners to grasp a hold of. Cows in the road, dogs everywhere, signs that are not spelled correctly, you are starting to get the point. Matt was right, only in India…
